Surplus policy and process
- Read the university surplus policy.
- If items are for the landfill (unrepairable, unsaleable, and unrecyclable):
- Discard smaller, non-working items in the Department of Chemistry's large trash dumpster located near the ground floor receiving dock.
- Larger, non-working items may be picked up by Facilities Management; contact Evelyn at evelyn-knight@uiowa.edu, to issue a Facilities Maintenance Requistion.
- If items are for surplus:
- Email Rachel (rachel-franke@uiowa.edu) a list of surplus items.
- Be descriptive listing each item, current quality of item, and the amount it was purchased for.
- Items that sell for over $300, will need a MFK to reimburse funds.
- Bring items to ground floor loading area. Larger items may be kept in your area and picked up directly from UI Surplus.
- Email Rachel (rachel-franke@uiowa.edu) a list of surplus items.
