Biography

Biosketch

Margaret is from Columbus, Ohio where she attended The Ohio State University to obtain her B.A. in chemistry in 2019. From there, she began her graduate studies at Pennsylvania State University with a focus on organic chemistry. Margaret’s research with Dr. Giri’s group was focused on the development of organometallic and photoredox methodology for the cyclization of alkene compounds. Upon graduating with her PhD in 2024, she spent two years teaching organic and introductory chemistry in a visiting position at University of Scranton. Margaret is excited to join University of Iowa as an instructional faculty member and continue sharing her passion for chemistry with students. Outside of the classroom, she can regularly be found working on a crochet project while watching either a PWHL or WNBA game (Go Fleet and Fever!)
