In January of 2022, Professor Ned Bowden and Mike Saunders launched Harvest Increase Agriculture, LLC as a start-up company to commercialize a new set of fertilizers developed in the Bowden research group.  These fertilizers have been shown to increase harvest yields of corn and soybeans in four years of field trials. A fifth year of large-scale field trials is underway with a plan to fully commercial in Iowa at the end of 2024 and then commercialize across the U.S. in subsequent years. They have licensed technology from the University of Iowa Research Foundation to launch this company.
