Welcome back to Patrick Dey to the DoC! He is our new 3rd floor lab manager!
Patrick grew up in Iowa City and graduated from the University of Iowa in 2018 with a degree in Chemistry. While at Iowa, he worked in the Leddy lab and Wiemer lab and as a prep staff for the undergraduate labs. After that, he headed west to Oregon State University to begin graduate studies in organic chemistry, where he focused on natural product synthesis. In 2022, Patrick moved to the Boston area and spent nearly four years at Novartis working as a medicinal chemist. Now, he’s excited to be back in Iowa City, closer to family and the community he knows well. Patrick enjoys hiking, hanging out with his pets, going to movies, and participating at pub trivia nights.
