Dr. Stephanie Eveland Parrott (Dr. E for short), our newest addition to the instructional faculty in the Department of Chemistry, joins us with more than five years teaching experience, having spent five years as an inorganic chemist at Wittenberg University, prior to which she team taught a semester at Iowa State University, where she earned her Ph.D. under Dr. Gordie Miller in 2019. Her research expertise is in synthetic and computational studies of gamma brasses utilizing X-Ray crystallography, and her passion lies in teaching underrepresented groups such as first-generation students.
Recently relocating from central Ohio with her husband David, a Coralville native, Stephanie is eager to explore the vibrant bike trails that eastern Iowa has to offer, and systematically taste all the international cuisine Iowa City has to offer. Their furry companions, a one-eyed dog named Minnie and a ten-year-old rabbit named Charlie, complete their household with mischief, companionship, and a lot of shedding.
Dr. E is enthusiastic about becoming a part of our university and she looks forward to working with everyone and making this year a great year to be a Hawkeye.
