Adam Brummett has officially been promoted to Associate Professor of Instruction as of July 2024. He has been with the University of Iowa Department of Chemistry since 2009, as a graduate student, then Assistant Professor of Instruction. Dr. Brummett has received the International Programs Stanley International Travel Award both in 2022 and 2024. He was also awarded the 2023-2024 International Engagement Teaching Award. 

Dr. Brummett has been a faculty director for the Sustainable Chemistry Along the Rhine Study Abroad course for the last two years. The course includes visits to major pharmaceutical companies, solar and energy companies, national science institutions, and glaciers to explore urbanization, biodiversity, conservation, climate change adaptation and mitigation, in a region at the forefront of advancement in these areas.
