Congratulations to Department of Chemistry professor Dave Wiemer who has been awarded the 2020 ACS Midwest Award. This award publicly recognizes outstanding achievements in chemistry in the Midwest region. It is conferred annually on a scientist who has made meritorious contributions to the advancement of pure or applied chemistry, chemical education, and the profession of chemistry.

An award ceremony will be planned at the Midwest Regional ACS meeting in Springfield, Missouri in October, where there will be a Midwest Award Symposium and a Midwest Award Lecture.
