Search for Physical Chemistry Faculty
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Iowa seeks applications to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position in Physical Chemistry broadly defined effective August 2019. A competitive salary and start-up package will be provided. Applicants must clearly demonstrate potential to develop and lead a nationally-prominent, externally-funded research program. The successful candidate must also add to the teaching mission of the Department in physical chemistry through excellent teaching skills and a commitment to excellence in instruction at all levels (small and large enrollment, laboratory, and graduate courses). Candidates must have a doctoral degree in chemistry or a closely related field and a strong, promising record of scholarship and productivity.
The Department has appointed 8 new tenure-track faculty members in the past 10 years and recently completed a major building renovation that provides state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and research. The University also provides a wide range of accessible state-of-the-art research facilities, as well as outstanding opportunities for interdisciplinary interactions with major campus initiatives and research centers.
