Teaching & Outreach
Our research broadly impacts (1) nanoscience and nanotechnology research, (2) robust optical nanobiosensor development using separations and/or spectroscopy, (3) controlled modification of nanomaterial surface chemistry for fundamentals studies of mass transport and spectroscopy, and (4) the education and training of “students” of all ages.

In addition, Haes Research Group members participate in the development of and outreach activities for local elementary students. Specifically, we work with teachers to develop age appropriate, hands-on science activities for kindergarten through fourth grader students. Various group members also volunteer their time performing scientific activities with local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
