Bowden Research Group
The Bowden group studies the synthesis of polymers for a wide range of applications including uses as membranes for separations and the delivery of drugs and nucleic acids for medicinal purposes. Each of these applications requires that the molecular and supramolecular properties of the polymers be carefully controlled. My group is heavily synthetic and focuses on using synthesis to control materials properties of the polymers that we produce. We use synthetic methods developed by others and develop our own synthetic methods. This research is highly interdisciplinary and we have active collaborations with groups in engineering, physics, and pharmacy.
